What is up, Kin Games?!?!

Our names are Emily Samuel and Teagan Viney, and we are your Head Coordinators for Kin Games 2027! We could not be more excited to welcome everyone to the University of Lethbridge this March for what we know is going to be an unforgettable weekend!

Emily’s Kin Games journey began in Winnipeg four years ago as a rookie, and she has spent the last three years as Lethbridge's team captain. Teagan started her Kin Games journey at MRU as a rookie and returned as a vet for 2026 at Laurentian University.

 

Our journey started with a text message.

​

After pondering the idea of hosting, Emily new she needed someone just crazy enough to do it with her. So she sent a text. "Don't ask why but, what are you doing next year?".

Not long after, Teagan decided to postpone her plans of moving for grad school and jumped on board the Kin Games Express. What could possibly go wrong, right? Between the planning, the spreadsheets, the meetings, and the inevitable late nights, we know we have a lot ahead of us, but we could not be more excited to make it happen.

Kin Games has a way of becoming so much more than just a few days on the calendar. It is the friendships, the traditions, the chants, the memories, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself. With our theme, Building Bridges, our hope is to bring schools and students together, strengthen connections across the Kin community, and create new memories that will last long after we all head home. We want KG2027 to be a place where everyone feels welcome, gets to show off their school spirit, and leaves with friendships and experiences they will carry with them for years to come.

Over the next several months, we cannot wait to watch all the hard work come together and the excitement continue to build. Get ready to bring ALL the energy, learn those chants, and prepare yourselves for a week full of competition, connection, and the kind of chaos that only Kin Games can deliver!
