Important Weekend Documents

When putting together a bid for Kin Games 2026, we had all these ideas. What sports we’ll play, how the dances will run, academic showdowns and spirit challenges. After careful consideration, our bid was accepted. Once a quick congratulations was complete, our Board of Directors only had one question left for us: “What’s your theme going to be?”. 

 

Picking the right theme proved way more difficult than ever anticipated. What seemed like a simple question turned into hours of throwing around ideas, none of which felt quite right. We knew we had a lot to live up to, comparing ourselves to more recent themes focusing on this amazing Kinmunity that we’ve all come to know and love. That being said, we also knew throwing a changeup with the theme was something we wanted to do while also staying true to Laurentian U.  

 

We knew going into this adventure of hosting Kin Games that we wanted to embrace the wilderness that is integrated into the very framework of Laurentian University. We wanted to showcase how with a little work and imagination, we could give you all a Kin Games we’ve all come to know and love, while also creating a bunch of brand new experiences, never before seen at KG. 

 

After putting off our final decision for way too long, it was finally blurted out one night, and we never turned back. 

 

 

At Kin Games 2026, we plan to embrace all of the wilderness Laurentian has to offer, welcoming you to The Great Outdoors.
